Dr. Steven Patty |
Dr. Rex Koivisto has been with Multnomah since 1982. He is currently taking a one-year sabbatical to revise his book, "One lord, one Faith." This book was originally written in 1993, but it is now out of print. Dr. Koivisto is also looking for a new publisher and is considering writing a second book. He has made a few trips to Europe and has made contacts there for his book. On March 7 he left for China to teach.
Dr. Steven Patty has been with Multnomah for 10 years. This spring he is taking the second of two, half-year sabbaticals. He is currently working on a book with his brother about the christology of youth ministry. He is also contributing toward a guidebook for beginning youth ministers.
Multnomah faculty members are allowed to take a one semester paid sabbatical after completing six years or 12 full-time semesters of continued service. Faculty members who have completed 13 years of service receive a year-long paid sabbatical. The faculty sabbatical is an opportunity for professors to pursue further education and development. This includes writing or revising a book, serving as a missionary and researching and studying in an area of their expertise.
