The 2005-2006 student government team has been elected. Jelani Memory again will hold the office of president. Junior Stephanie Rogers has been elected as vice president.

Other elected cabinet members include Jessica Hohman, Student World Outreach Team chairperson and Jason Bigelow, Multnomah Community Outreach chairperson. Cheree Jones will be serving as woman's fellowship coordinator, Carlin Davidson as men's fellowship coordinator, and Jonathan Thompson as married student's fellowship coordinator.

Rogers, who has exercised her leadership abilities recently by heading a ministry team of Multnomah students to Compton, Calif., said she has a passion for serving Multnomah by raising leaders on campus.

In his nomination speech to the student body, Memory sat on the Central Bible Church stage stairs and said, "This school's on a journey. My life's on a journey. So is Stugo." He concluded his speech by saying, "I desire to continue representing, loving and serving you as president."

Memory said he will assist Stugo and the student body in their journeys through implementing additional structure in student government, which has been lacking for many years, investing in the leadership; and encouraging them to pour their lives into students through events and representation. He has already begun meeting with the new team to prepare for next year.

He added that he has set several goals for himself and the new team, including making a constitutional revision by the end of fall semester, spreading a passion for God's glory in all things from staff actions to student body events, and inspiring students to be more real and honest with who they are.

Hohman, who was elected for SWOT chair, has adopted this theme for her life: "Don't be afraid to let God color outside the lines."

She said in her nomination speech, "God's making a beautiful design out of my life."

Last year, Hohman led a handful of students on a trip to Italy. She said, "I want to work with university students and share God's heart for the world."

Bigelow, elected for MCO chair, has been heavily involved in a variety of MCO activities this year. Bigelow said, "You can't be a leader without first being a servant."
