Meet Stugo's New President

There comes a day every year when the sun actually shows itself for longer than five minutes. This day is when homework flies out the window, books crash to the floor, and the sunglasses come out. We call this day "Saturday in the Park."

As students, we have worked together, studied together and walked through the rain together, but this day is just to play.

Every year, following MBC tradition, the Stugo team gives our school an opportunity for students to just have fun together.

Saturday in the Park happens May 12, at Mt. Tabor, from noon to 5 p.m. Stugo will provide lunches, drinks and water in many different forms. All students are welcome; we hope to see you there!

Another tradition that began this year in our weekly Stugo meetings is what we call "appreciations." We take time and tell people to their face that we appreciate them and why. I find that more joy is granted to the one doing the appreciating than the one being appreciated.

Because they sometimes go unnoticed, I want to appreciate two teams that have impacted this community and the city in a huge way.

This year's MCO team members have worked hard to impact Portland for Christ, and they have brought our student body along with them. I appreciate their hard work and faithfulness.

This year's Stugo team has also worked so hard despite the fact that they were brand-new to this and have handled themselves in such a Christ-like way that I can safely say I hope this next team can be just like that. I know we have enjoyed their events and their leadership this year. I raise my cafeteria cup to them.

Both Bethany Aldrich and I are excited for this coming year. We both want to be visible with our leadership and get students involved. We are here to serve you, and our service comes out of love for our Lord and love for you.
