Allison Brandow, a senior, has been chosen as Voice editor for the '07-'08 school year. She was born and raised in historic Oregon City.

Favorite place in Portland: I could spend days in Powell's Books. I feel like I can absorb all the knowledge from the books just by hanging around them.

Favorite food: I love almost any type of ice cream. My favorite, though, is Chocolate Mousse Royale.

Best book read since enrolling at MBC: Besides the Bible, I've enjoyed "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas and "The Circle" books by Ted Dekker.

Most hated chore: As a child, I hated cleaning up after our rabbits. They were too messy and stinky.

Favorite gadget: My SLR Rebel K2 film camera.

Genre of music/favorite artist: Country music, especially Brad Paisley, and Christian pop artists such as Chris Rice and FFH.

Favorite magazine: World Magazine gives me hope that good journalism exists. I need to hear about events from a Christian perspective to balance what I read in The Oregonian.

Favorite hobby: When I have time, I play around with my trombone. I began learning the instrument when I was 13.

Strengths: I hate giving up, meaning I stick with a project until it's done.

Weaknesses: I procrastinate. I also dislike making phone calls.

Work outside of school: I work at Baskin Robbins in Oregon City. It was the first job I applied for, and I have worked there for four years.

Pets: Right now my family has three cats, two rabbits, one fish and two ducks.

Summer plans: I will be living in Orlando, Fla., where I'll be interning for the communications department at Wycliffe Bible Translators headquarters.

Biggest concern for The Voice next year: First, following Ben Tertin as editor will be a challenge. Ben is a great leader and writer, and I don't think I can do as well as he has. Second, finding staff members will be difficult.
