Services provide for needs

King's Kloset is a free service for Multnomah students who need clothes, kitchenware items or assorted household items. Community members and students donate used clothes specifically for Multnomah students and their families. King's Kloset asks only that students not take more than their household needs or sell products they acquire.

King's Kloset volunteers ask people to drop off donations during working hours and not leave things outside the building, located at 8615 N.E. Glisan.

The GAP (God Always Provides) or "the hook-up house" has food from the Portland Rescue Mission, Quality Foods in Beaverton, and Birch Gleaners. The GAP provides day-old bread, baked goodies, fruit and vegetables as well as assorted medicines. The Furlong family provides the goods from their garage at 8601 N.E. Pacific St.

Students may take as much food as they want. A suggested $2 donation provides gas for the family's eight trips a week. All students are welcome.

Hours for the GAP are on Thursdays from 2-7 and Fridays from 10-5.

The King's Kloset's hours are Mondays from 9-10:30, Tuesdays from 2-3, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 11:30-12:30 and Fridays from 9:30-11:30.
