5 Things to Look Forward to This Fall

A new semester at Multnomah has just begun and there is a lot to squeeze in between now and Winter break! If you are freshman, you may be wondering what to expect during your first semester of college. It can be tempting, especially for more introverted folks, to make the mistake of sitting out on the numerous community events and clubs around campus. But hear us out, the average person is in college for only four years of their life. Beyond getting an education, college is a time for self-discovery, making lifelong adult friends, and having lots and lots of fun. So, attend events, join clubs, and sign up for intramural sports because you won’t get this opportunity again!

To get you excited about all the fun fall events on campus, we have provided a breakdown of six of the top things to look forward to this fall.

1. Lion Bowl

Around November, the entire Multnomah community rallies to compete or cheer on one another in the student/faculty/staff flag football showdown! This year should be particularly special because the event will be hosted on our new Williford Field!

2. Fall Preview

Future students can experience life as a Multnomah lion during one of our bi-annual visit events. For current students, you won’t want to miss the main event, Night at the Nomah! Cheer on the Nomah Nation during the dunk contest, win huge prizes, eat free food, and more. Invite your friends to this year’s Fall Preview on October 20th so they can see what Multnomah is all about! Visitors can sign-up and learn more at multnomah.edu/fall-preview.

3. Holiday Parties

Harvest Party, Late Night Breakfast, and Multnomah’s Christmas Party are all fun holiday events for current students on campus. Harvest party has featured spooky events like a student-run haunted house, lip-sync competition, and, of course, games and food!

Late Night Breakfast and the Christmas Party happen during finals week to give students a break from studying. Throw on your Christmas sweater and come spend the evening with your peers, staff, and faculty for games, fun prizes, and a reading of The Night Before Christmas.

4. Intramural Sports

Whether you’ve played sports your whole life or want to try something new, the intramural sports program offers students the opportunity to be a part of a team. Join a team or start your own and play weekly in games centered around fun and friendship.

5. Squad Warz

Be a part of our newest Multnomah tradition! Squad Warz is a semester-long team competition with your friends and classmates. Every week there will be new challenges and competitions for you to earn points for your team. Squad Warz is quickly becoming a new favorite event on-campus and you don’t want to miss out on the opportunity to join in on the fun!
