Foundations of Leadership Learn current leadership theory and how theory influences practice. Students will gain insight into their own leadership behavior and discover the skills necessary to become a leader that inspires others. (3 credits)

Organizational Design and Innovation Understand organizational design and innovation to better position an organization in a way that will allow it to be efficient, effective and forward-thinking in achieving its goals. (3 credits)

Managing Organizational Conflict Develop a conceptual understanding of the psychological and behavioral forces of interpersonal and group conflict. Learn the techniques and skills necessary to prevent, manage and resolve workplace conflict. (3 credits)

Leading Teams Develop the skills you need to understand and manage team dynamics. Learn how to promote effective team processes, group cohesion, collaboration and problem solving. (3 credits)

Budgeting and Financial Planning Understand the principles and techniques for making sound fiscal decisions through the budgeting process. (3 credits)

Managing Organizational Diversity Understand how leaders can manage and lead a global and diverse organization that encourages talent and innovation. (3 credits)

Ethical Leadership Understand how the decisions leaders make can create or erode ethical behavior within an organization. (3 credits)

Strategic Planning and Management Learn how to become a strategic leader that can plan, develop and execute organizational initiatives. (3 credits)

Project Management Develop the knowledge, skills and techniques that are necessary to successfully complete specific goals. Students will learn the five phases of project completion: initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing. (3 credits)

Capstone Project Students will demonstrate their ability to conduct an organizational analysis on the key elements of an organization, assessing its strengths and weaknesses, and preparing an improvement strategy. (3 credits)

Application requirements

  • B.S. or B.A. from an accredited college or university
  • Cumulative GPA of at 2.5
  • Submit application with all required forms

Graduation requirements

  • Complete required program credits with at least 15 credits earned at Multnomah
  • Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.5
  • Normally complete the program within a four-year period from the date of matriculation
