DMin admission requirements

  • A Master of Divinity or its equivalent from an appropriately accredited school with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in vocational ministry after receiving the M.Div. degree.
  • Students who have served in ministry prior to and during their M.Div. programs may be exempted. Students must participate in their ministry for the duration of the D.Min. program, but may petition the D.Min. faculty committee to waive this requirement for reasons of health, family issues, or professional transition.
  • Students are required to acknowledge the MU Statement of Faith as the teaching position of the Seminary and the D.Min. program, and to indicate differences they have with the individual statements in it.
  • Additional Requirement for International Students: Provide proof of proficiency in the English language. Multnomah requires that international students score at least 550 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language. This is equivalent to a 79 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT). Multnomah’s school code is 4496. Students may substitute the IELTS exam if desired, with an overall band score of at least 7.0. This requirement may be waived for some students whose primary language is English.

“The most important things I’ve taken away from this program are a biblical theology of evangelism, understanding what the Bible says about the gospel, and honing my skills in how I share the good news effectively.”
