Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU)

Multnomah University has been accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) since 2005. NWCCU is a regional accrediting association of postsecondary institutions in the seven-state Northwest region of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington.

NWCCU regional accreditation is a voluntary, non-governmental, self-regulatory process of quality assurance and institutional improvement. NWCCU accreditation recognizes higher education institutions for performance, integrity, and quality to merit the confidence of the educational community and the public. NWCCU accreditation qualifies institutions and enrolled students for access to federal funds for support teaching, research, and student financial aid.

Association of Theological Schools (ATS)

Multnomah Biblical Seminary (of Multnomah University) is accredited with the Commission on Accrediting of the Association of Theological Schools (ATS) in the United States and Canada. Additionally, Multnomah Biblical Seminary is approved for a Comprehensive Distance Education Program.

The following degree programs are approved:

  • Master of Divinity (M.Div.)
  • M.A. in Christian Leadership
  • M.A. in Biblical Studies
  • M.A. in Theological Studies
  • M.A. in Applied Theology (MAAT)
  • Doctor of Ministry (D.Min.)
