B.A., Greenville University

Hired in 2021

Ben Barber is originally from Greenville, Illinois, which is a small town in the southern part of the state. Prior to working in higher education, Ben worked in ministry with the Salvation Army and in the music industry with the Christian hip hop label Humble Beast. He studied music business and ran track at Greenville University during his time as an undergraduate student. Ben made his way up to Portland in 2021, when he was hired on as the sprints coach for the Men and Women’s Track & Field teams at Multnomah before joining the Admissions team. He finds incredible honor in being able to pour into the future generation through sport, faith, and education. He says, “I think sports have a lot of transferable skills that help athletes succeed in all areas of life and helping hone those skills and teach those lessons is a huge part of why I love my job.”

When Ben is not at work he likes to run, hike, make music, and play basketball.
