As God Leads: The Campaign for Multnomah University

Multnomah University is launching the largest comprehensive fundraising campaign in its history — As God Leads: The Campaign for Multnomah University.

This three-year effort will raise $18 million to expand support for student scholarships, construct a new academic building and athletic facilities, and invest in academic initiatives.

“Students need more options for completing their educational goals in an affordable way,” said Dr. Craig Williford, Multnomah University’s fifth president. “This campaign is essential to reduce student debt and give more students access to Multnomah University’s educational experience.”

The Campaign for Multnomah University focuses on four strategic initiatives. Achievement of these four objectives will set the stage to propel the university into our next century of impact. The four initiatives of this historic campaign are:

  • Increasing support for student scholarships ($8 million).
  • Building a state-of-the-art science and technology building ($6.5 million).
  • Developing new on-campus athletic facilities ($2.5 million).
  • Establishing a strategic innovation fund for academic initiatives ($1 million).

To date, generous alumni, parents, and friends have committed $14,867,091 toward the $18 million campaign goal. Included in this total, are two anonymous commitments of $5 million. Each of these $5 million commitments represent the single-largest one-time commitment in the 83-year history of the university. Multnomah also received two additional commitments over $1 million.

Williford emphasizes the impact of Multnomah University students and alumni on the world. “Our student and alumni courageously and passionately serve where God leads them with a willingness to pursue unexpected opportunities outside of the normal avenues for ministry…including in science and technology,” said Williford.

Multnomah University prepares students to have meaningful careers and lives of impact. Vice President of Advancement, Robby Larson, speaks to the distinctly unique educational experiences. “We’re creating a learning environment that’s centered on Christ and powered by imagination,” said Larson. “We produce graduates who stand out as exceptional employees.”
