Our biology program is a path to the discovery of God’s creation. The more you know about the inner workings of the world, the more you’ll appreciate the amazing nature of our Creator. Whether you’re an aspiring scientist, teacher, or medical professional, you’ll have every opportunity to explore your interests down to the molecular level. You’ll work with faculty who help you focus on your calling, and you’ll gain the in-depth knowledge you need to excel as a professional. 

Chart a course for your future

  • Pursue a professional career in dentistry, medicine, optometry, pharmacy, chiropractic, or veterinary medicine.
  • Enter the workforce in settings such as field work, pharmaceutical sales, teaching, or other career options.
  • Integrate the discipline of biological science with scriptural principles.
  • Discuss theories of origins and evolution within the context of a scriptural view of creation and the history of Christian thought.

Program overview

It takes 124 semester credit units to complete the Biology program, allowing you to earn your degree in four years as a full-time student. 


The program will help you build a broad foundation in biological science that complements the integration of faith and learning in the arts and sciences tradition. You’ll also have the opportunity to explore other disciplines and interdisciplinary courses to broaden your scope of education. 


The program contains:

  • Lower-division core courses
  • Upper-division required and elective courses
  • Service learning component in the form of internship
  • Independent research or senior thesis, which are useful vehicles for carrying out community service activities as well as formative and summative outcomes assessments for program improvement and quality assurance
