The Run Down

Hodges Leads Comeback Win

116-111 win

Both teams exchanged baskets early and often until MU took a 31-30 lead with 7 minutes to go in the first half. WCB then went on a 27-12 run to take a 14 point lead into halftime. MU could not stay with the Eagles best two players, Colton Cochran and Travis Burkett who scored from inside and outside.

Multnomah came storming back in the second half and cut the lead to 1 point with 13 minutes to go, but then WCB went on another run and stretched the lead out to 10 pionts again. MU stuck with it, after only hitting 5 three pointers in the first half, the Lions hit on 8 of 17 in the second half. Both teams just slugged it out until MU went on a run sparked by three steals in three possessions with conversions.

Things looked sealed up, but WCB simply wouldn't quit and cut the lead to three points with 8 seconds left when Stevie Sansone hit two free throws to seal the victory. "West Coast is a great team that played everyone on their very difficult schedule tough this year. They always give our shooters fits, it was a great game." said Curt Bickley after the game.

The Lions who scored 73 points in the second half, were led by Austin Hodges with 33 points.  Erik Mendoza knocked down four three pointers and scored 23 points. Steve Bustrin scored 15 points and dished out 9 assists, while Jackson Coleman scored 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.

Multnomah will play Portland Bible College on their home court at 11:00 tomorrow for the Region Championship.
