Lions Play Well, Owls Too Much

Klamath Falls, OR – The Multnomah University Lions travelled to Klamath Falls, Oregon on Tuesday night to take on the 2012 NAIA II National Champion Oregon Tech Hustlin Owls on the legendary Danny Miles Court in front of 950 people.

The Lions got off to a sluggish start, while the Owls were hot.  MU hit on only 3 of 16 three’s in the first half as the Owls closed out hard on the MU shooters.  The halftime score was 57-37 Owls.

In the second half, the tempo started to pay off as MU found their shooters in transition. The Lions hit 10 second half three’s to score 57 points in the frame, but the Owls scored 56.  OIT hit 19 of 44 from downtown in the game.

David Walker led 5 Lions in double figures with 19 points while Kristoff Thande netted 18 points.  Steve Bustrin scored 13, Robert West 15 and Erik Mendoza 11.

Multnomah will face Warner Pacific next Tuesday night at WPC at 7:00.
