106-119 loss

Multnomah and Lewis Clark College Combine for 225 Points

PORTLAND, OREGON - 12-18-2013 The Multnomah University Lions played host to the Lewis and Clark College Pioneers on Wednesday night on the campus of MU.

LCC came out firing on all cylinders Wednesday night in the first half by hitting on 8 three pointers and many shots at the rim to take a 71-49 lead into halftime as MU struggled to get shots off from deep as the Pioneers would not give any room to the MU shooters.

In the second half, the Lions created some room in transition and got hot from the outside. Erik Mendoza got things started by nailing three straight three pointers and Steve Bustrin took it hard to the basket creating offense and drawing fouls.  Bustrin led the Lions in scoring with 21 points.

MU was able to claw back to within 13 points at 113-100 when Preston Brooks hit his third straight three pointer, but the Lions could get no closer. The final score was 119-106.

Multnomah had 6 players in double figures and hit 17 out of 42 three pointers. LCC was led by Jason Luhnov with 25 points.

Multnomah will open conference play in San Diego on January 1st at 5:00 against St. Katherine College at Ramona High School. The Lions will play three more games on the road trip before returning home to face Grace Bible College on January 12th.
