MU loses First Game

118-136 loss

The Multnomah Lions took on the defending Division 2 Canadian National champions on Friday night at home in a wild affair that saw 54 fouls called and 254 points scored by both teams combined.

The Lions were down 79-56 at the half.  David Walker had 28 first half points, but not much scoring help from the rest to start with. In the second half, point guard Steve Bustrin gave MU a chance to think they might get back in it, but VIU was just too much.

David Walker led MU with 45 points while Steve Bustrin dished out 15 assists and only turned it over once. Preston Brooks came off the bench to score 10 points, while Kristoff Thande scored 13 points before fouling out.
