Patriots Too Much for Lions


63-82 loss

 The Multnomah Lions lost Saturday night to Valley Forge Christian College, the NCCAA runner up the past 2 seasons for the NCCAA National Championships. The final score was 63-82.

 The Lions put up a fight in the first half with contributions from the starters and the bench. Seth Coleman and Stevie Sansone combined to hit 4 three pointers to help lead the Lions to a 41-38 halftime lead.

 In the second half, MU went stone cold. The Lions hit only 7 out of 33 shots, 2 for 18 from the three point line and lost their lead for good early in the second frame.  Valley Forge changed things up on the defensive end and it paid off with the 82-63 win.  Stevie Sansone led the Lions with 15 points.

 MU will face off with North Adelaide on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00.
