Interested in proposing a new way to earn Spiritual Life credits?
Outside our 70+ Spiritual Life offerings, we also encourage students, faculty and staff to propose new and creative ways for students to earn their Spiritual Life credits. The Spiritual Life Committee reviews each proposal to make sure it falls within the Spiritual Life mission:
To invite the university community into a deeper experience of God’s love, and to support students in their spiritual journey by creating opportunities for growth in Christ through reflection, discovery and practice of our faith in Christ.

Why does Multnomah University value Spiritual Life credits?
We value the act of gathering together for worship like we value academic excellence. At Multnomah University, we truly desire to invest in the spiritual growth and maturation of each student. Because of this commitment, we make worship and Spiritual Life a high priority in our weekly schedule, and students meet certain Spiritual Life credit requirements each semester.
We don’t view these credits as merely boxes to check; rather, we carve out these moments because they are truly central to who we are: a community centered in the art of becoming disciples of Jesus. This is why we intentionally pause from the busyness of life and gather as friends and colleagues to praise God in all circumstances through corporate worship. These are specific times to cultivate our hearts, minds and spirits as we’re continually challenged to trust and follow Christ.
