Tayo was born and raised in Portland, OR and graduated from David Douglas High School.
Tayo continued his academic and basketball career at Western Oregon University (D2) as a redshirt. He then transferred to Cascade College (NAIA) and later graduated with a bachelor’s degree.
Tayo has 13 years of coaching and player development experience at the AAU, high school, college, and professional level. His desire for coaching comes from the love of basketball and the passion of having a positive impact on young people, helping them reach their full potential both on and off the court.
In 2022, Tayo returned to the Cascade Collegiate Conference as an assistant coach and took over the program as head coach at the end of the season.
The 2023-24 season will be his 2nd with the Lions and 1st as head coach.
Outside of coaching, Tayo enjoys spending time with his wife Dairee and 3 daughters (Ava, Faye & EllaSky).
