Hired in 2010


Coach Tim Bieri came to Portland in 2010 to serve as Multnomah’s Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach. In 2014, Multnomah added a Women’s Basketball program and Tim became the inaugural coach for the team. Since the launch of the Women’s program, Tim has led the Lions to two Cascade Collegiate Conference playoff appearances. During his time at MU, Tim has filled many roles, including Sports Information Director, volleyball coach, he worked in the Advancement department, and in 2015, Tim took the role of Assistant Athletics Director. Since 2005, Tim has served with a Christian basketball mission organization called News Release Basketball. He also played, coached, and served in countries such as Belgium, France, Germany, Northern Ireland, and Japan. In 2015, Tim was inducted into the Berthoud High School Athletics Hall of Fame, and, in October 2017, he was inducted into the Fort Lewis College Athletic Hall of Fame.

Tim and his wife, Sara, have three sons named Isaac, Asher, and Bennett. Tim is currently enrolled in the Master’s in Management and Leadership program here at MU and is on track to graduate with an M.S. in Spring 2021.
