Fall Graduates Celebrate Relationships Built, Skills Gained at Multnomah

On Friday, December 15, Multnomah University celebrated its fall graduation ceremony at Central Bible Church in Portland, Ore. Faculty, staff, friends and family rejoiced together as students from 18 disciplines — including counseling, theology, development and justice — were rewarded for their hard work and achievements.

By the time graduates filed across the stage to receive their diplomas, they had already been treated to a full and festive spread. Dr. Greg Burch, Chair of the Global Studies Department, gave a welcoming speech before the community worshipped together, singing classic favorites like “O Come, All Ye Faithful.” After that, business major and college graduate Lucia Morud read from the Gospel of Luke before President Williford gave a graduation address on the importance of utilizing passion and wisdom.

A Multnomah education is highly relational, and the impact of the many friendships, mentorships and tight-knit bonds students had built did not go unnoticed: The packed auditorium gleamed with the warmth and love these relationships had cultivated during their time here.

We are so excited to send our graduates off with a bang. Congrats, Class of December 2017! May you be fully equipped to love Christ and serve your neighbors through your lives and work as you begin your next chapter.
