Fall Season 2020 Updates Announced

The Cascade Collegiate Conference (CCC) announced that due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, fall sports will be delayed with the hope of playing in the winter/spring of 2021.

The CCC Council of President’s made this decision with the safety and well-being of students as the highest priority. The sports included in this change for Multnomah University Athletics are men’s/women’s soccer, women’s volleyball, men’s golf, and men’s/women’s cross country.

Conference commissioner Robert Cashell stated, “The ongoing issues with COVID-19 and the surge in cases, in particular regions of our member schools, has made the prospect of properly conducting a fall season with the confidence we need to ensure the health and safety of our student-athletes during this pandemic unrealistic.”

In addition to the fall delay, all intercollegiate competition in the CCC is suspended until at least November 1st. The situation will continue to be reevaluated to make the best decision for the conference, which will be announced on later date. Future unknowns for competition plans are still being addressed.

Multnomah University updated its campus return policies for student-athletes to move-in August 27th-30th during Welcome Weekend with the rest of the student body. We will continue to provide updates to athletes and the public as soon as the information is available.
