Are you ready to be a leader who uses your influence to point your community toward Christ? You were created to use your voice for good – to bring light into dark places, to encourage the downtrodden, and to live with a redemptive love for your neighbors. You were created for such a time as this.

Our Lions in Leadership (LIL) program is for students who are eager to be mentored in the disciplines of Christ-centered leadership during their collegiate experience. This year we are focusing on the specific issues, strengths, and challenges of women in leadership. This program is cohort-based and open to all incoming freshmen and sophomore students who are living on campus. You will live and learn together – being empowered to grow in your identity in Christ and discerning how your life goals align with your strengths – so you can lead and serve well upon graduation.

  • Sign up to live on campus. This program is intentionally reserved for students who are living within the Multnomah residential community.
  • Meet individually with your personal mentor every other week.
  • Meet with your cohort every month to engage with and learn from Multnomah staff and faculty who will discuss leadership topics and share from their own lives.
  • Participate in day-long leadership retreats each semester that blend elements of learning, reflection, and community building within your cohort.

Mentorship is foundational to every student’s developing leadership story and is a priority in our program. Each LIL member will meet with their mentor every two weeks during the school year to focus on leadership development and goal setting. Because we believe the best teaching is given through example, our LIL mentors will guide their students through their own personal leadership journey, both past and present.

We learn best when we learn together. With community at the heart of our LIL program, we’ll bring together the cohort once a month for a Leadership Seminar, discussion on topics related to women in leadership, led by Multnomah staff and faculty. Once a semester the LIL cohort will collaborate with the Leadership Summit program to create an experience focused on issues for women in leadership that is open to the whole community.

The LIL cohort will engage in day retreats once a semester to hear from professionals in the larger Portland area who will share their insight into what it means to be a female leader in their industry. These retreats will also include group bonding opportunities and meals at some of Portland’s best restaurants.
