The fundamentals of flight in order to acquire the knowledge to safely operate an airplane. Includes an overview of aerodynamics, flight planning and procedures, aircraft performance, risk assessment, navigation, and Federal Aviation Regulations.
Prepares students for the FAA Private Pilot Airplane knowledge test.
Covers advanced concepts of aircraft systems, performance, weight and balance, crew resource management, and regulations in preparation for a career in aviation. Presents sufficient knowledge to prepare for the FAA Commercial Pilot knowledge test.
Prerequisite/corequisite: Hold a valid U.S. Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Flight or hold a valid U.S. Private Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating
Students will gain experience in cross-country flying and advanced instrument flight techniques. Students will have the opportunity to fly cross-country with an instructor and solo.
Prerequisite/corequisite: Hold a valid U.S. Private Pilot Certificate, Instrument Flight or hold a valid U.S. Private Pilot Certificate with an Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot Theory
Students will transition from the pilot’s seat to the instructor’s seat and learn to fly with a new sight picture. Students will develop lesson plans and teach each flight maneuver required to obtain a Recreational, Private, or Commercial Pilot Certificate. Students will be prepared to obtain the FAA Flight Instructor Certificate.
