MU Lions Play Hoops, Share the Gospel in Taiwan

The Multnomah men’s basketball team flew to Taipei, Taiwan, this summer and spent 10 days playing basketball, visiting schools and serving churches, all while sharing the gospel in various ways.

The Lions played 10 games throughout the trip, exchanging gifts before each game started. They even ran a chapel session at a local school, where head coach Curt Bickley told the story of David and Goliath, using the Multnomah players to act out the parts of the Philistines and the Israelites.

“This was my very first missions trip,” said business major Thomas Simien. “It was wonderful to spread the gospel and to hopefully have made an impact, even if it was for a moment in someone’s life.”
