The History of Multnomah University

Multnomah School of the Bible was founded in 1936 by Rev. John G. Mitchell. Classes began the following October with 49 students and six faculty members. In 1993, due to our growing educational programs and higher student demand, we became Multnomah Bible College and Seminary. In 2008, we became Multnomah University.

For over 80 years, Multnomah has equipped Christian students to love God and serve their neighbors wherever God leads. Our commitment to our students and to the Word of God has stood the test of time. Today, we offer more degrees and programs than ever before to prepare more students to pursue lives of adventurous faith.
