What happens when a minister and an interior designer buy a French chateau to create a space to minister and educate college-aged students? You get Loire Valley Study Abroad, hosted by Rob and Leslie Hildebrand at Chateau de la Grifferaie!
Dr. Rob Hildebrand is an Associate Professor and Chair of Multnomah’s Youth and Educational Ministries program. Together, he and Leslie created Loire Valley Study Abroad, a Christian community of learning that educates and holistically disciples students through Biblical instruction, faculty mentorship, classroom interaction, and study abroad.
Students who join LVSA’s annual trips spend two months in Europe living in countries like France, Germany, Italy, Austria, and Slovenia. They also take 9-15 semester hours of college credit that can be transferred to Multnomah University! Together, students read through much of the Bible, learning and growing in community.
This week, students from the U.S. and Canada are taking off to join the Hildebrands in Paris, France as they begin their two-month excursion! We will be sharing updates from this year’s trip, but if you want to learn more right now, make sure to check out the LVSA website where the Hildebrands host all the information you might need about their program, as well as many videos from past trips.
