Ambassadors Finish Third in Regional Tournament

The Multnomah Ambassador basketball team capped their season with a third-place showing at the NCCAA West Regional Tournament in Abbottsford, B.C. The men's team went 2-1 over the weekend, beating Life Pacific College and Columbia Bible College.

MBC's loss came against top-ranked Simpson College. Simpson was upset in the finals and placed second.

Multnomah Junior David Carpenter played an outstanding tournament, scoring 54 points against Life Pacific, including 11 three point shots, and he hit the game-winning shot with only two seconds left to play.

Against Columbia Bible College he scored 47 points and had 13 rebounds. During MBC's loss to Simpson College, Carpenter scored 31 points.

Carpenter was voted the Most Valuable Player of the Western Region. The NCCAA also named Carpenter the student athlete of the week for February 16-22.
