Bestselling author and Multnomah alum Randy Alcorn will speak at Multnomah's John G. Mitchell Christian Life Conference on September 13-16. During this four-day event, Alcorn will present material from his latest book, Heaven, a comprehensive look into a place about which people have many questions.
Alcorn's first session of the conference is entitled "How and Why We Think Incorrectly About Heaven." The other three sessions are "Understanding the Present Heaven," "Understanding the New Earth," and "Anticipating the New Earth."
"In my book Heaven I explore the beauties, wonders and adventures of resurrected living with the resurrected Jesus on the New Earth," said Alcorn. "What lies ahead for the follower of Christ is fantastic and thrilling on a cosmic scale." Alcorn spent 25 years researching Heaven before writing the book. Now it is the most comprehensive and definitive book about Heaven to date. The books seek to answer common questions people have about heaven; what is Heaven really going to be like, what will we look like, what will we do, and won't Heaven get boring after a while?
An alum of Multnomah, Alcorn has written over twenty books, both fiction and non-fiction, has served as an adjunct faculty member at Multnomah Bible College, has been a guest on over 500 radio and television shows, and has spoken at conferences all around the world. He currently resides in Gresham, Oregon with his wife, Nanci. They have two daughters and two grandsons.
The John G. Mitchell Christian Life Conference, featuring Randy Alcorn, will take place at Central Bible Church, next door to Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary. Each of the four sessions on September 13-16 goes from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. If you would like more information about the conference, please contact Dale Wheeler at 503.251.6416 or Emi Koe at 503.251.6414.
