Multnomah's student aid fundraising banquet at the Sea-Tac Marriott Hotel in Seattle, Wash., raised more than $50,000 to help subsidize students' tuition. Each year, every student's tuition is reduced $2,300 because of monetary gifts. Approximately 190 people attended the evening event on October 18.
Guests were treated to dinner, music and an encouraging message by Dan Jarrell and Greg Dempster, pastors at ChangePoint Church in Anchorage, Alaska. Mr. Jarrell is a former Multnomah dean and Mr. Dempster is an alumnus.
Current student Kristy McIntire led prayer and Katherine Buechler gave her personal testimony. Richard Ross, an alumnus also spoke. The Multnomah Chorus, along with alumna Jerrie Anne Fortune, performed special music.
Dr. Lockwood called the donations a "wonderful blessing for our students who are proclaiming unchanging truth for a changing world."
