Rev. Dr. Jessica Taylor Selected as Director of Cultural Integration

PORTLAND, Ore. — Multnomah University is pleased to announce that Rev. Dr. Jessica Taylor has been selected as director of cultural integration. She will begin serving in the newly created position in early March.

Taylor is a former Multnomah student and a member of the MU Board of Trustees. University President Dr. G. Craig Williford said she brings a wide variety of skills and talents to the table.

“I believe God has uniquely prepared her for this position,” he said. “Her personal commitment to Christ, in-depth knowledge of MU, and experience in mental healthcare, pastoring and life coaching make her a welcome addition to the university’s leadership staff. I am delighted that she has agreed to join the MU Family in such a critical role.”

As director of cultural integration, Taylor will work directly with the president and the President’s Council to advise on issues related to diversity and cultural identity. She also will partner with students, faculty and staff to implement activities and practices that promote accountability, cultural competency and inclusion.

“I am thrilled for the opportunity to join a team of people who care about making Multnomah more and more an expression of the kingdom of God here on earth,” Taylor said. “This community has been one that has captured my heart with its complexities and potential to impact the city of Portland and the world by equipping gospel-minded people.”

Taylor will be accessible to students, faculty and staff on a regular basis. Her goal is to help people make the most of their educational experience.

“I am most energized by the amount of time I will be spending with students,” she said. “Supporting, coaching and resourcing others is my passion, and I cannot wait to see how students are able to thrive with more dedicated support.”
