In the spring of their senior year at Multnomah University, business students complete a capstone course where they consult for a local business or community organization. In small groups of 3-4 students, the students apply the knowledge they’ve learned at MU to provide strategic insights and plans to businesses.
Business Leaders: Do You Need Student Help On A Project?
We’re looking for 2-3 organizations that would like to partner with our students on a project. Participating organizations can be any type business in the Portland Metro area, from start-ups to non-profit agencies. Small and emerging businesses can find the support required for analysis of important issues. Students will conduct comprehensive analysis of an organization, its industry, competitors, and general environment, to form viable strategic alternatives. Deliverables will range from a business plan to more targeted analyses such as a feasibility study for a new product or service.
The Learning Outcomes for projects are focused on contemporary measurable attributes that contribute to effective business operations within our community. This is an opportunity for business leaders to cooperate with Multnomah University in the analysis, design and development of programs or related activities for possible implementation. This will be provided to community partners at no cost and will happen over a sixteen-week academic semester.
The final weeks of the course will feature development of presentations of student observations and proposed business plans. The final evening of class will feature presentations to representatives from the external client organizations.
Any small business, start-up or non-profit agency interested in becoming a community partner for the spring semester should fill out the form below by January 10, 2020. You will receive a response by January 31, 2020. Projects will be completed by April 13, 2020. If you have questions in the meantime, you may reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org or call (503) 251.6423.
