Multnomah to endorse upcoming event, Portland Again

10/27/2005

Multnomah Bible College and Biblical Seminary is pleased to endorse the upcoming event, Portland Again. This 100-year anniversary event celebrates the Portland revival in 1905, during which 200 businesses "suspended" their store hours so owners and employees could attend special revival services. During this same time, over 10,000 people marched the streets of Portland at midnight, praying for the city.

"Recalling God's faithful working in the lives of individuals is an instructive, indeed biblical, practice," said Multnomah President Dr. Daniel R. Lockwood. "The fact that this century-old revival took place in our own locale makes it all the more significant for believers in the Greater Portland area."

Sponsored by pastors and business people, Portland Again will not only re-visit the past but look to the future. The 90-minute event will include a fascinating video and a look at the revival that swept Portland in 1905. Attendees will also discuss what the future holds for Portland and how pastors and business people can come together to glorify God and build his kingdom in our communities, our institutions, and in people’s hearts.

Portland Again will be held on November 8, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Oregon Convention Center, located at 777 NE Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd in Portland. There is no charge, but pre-registration is recommended. For more information, or if you would like to register, visit www.portlandagain.org or call 503.254.4577. Current Multnomah students should register through the Student Ministries Office.
